The RiverPlex has over 150 group classes a week that are free with membership. Our wide variety of classes means you can change your workout as often as you change your socks. Our flexible schedule means you can find classes that suit your timeframe. Take a look at our exciting offerings below.

General Information

Group exercise does not discriminate by age, gender, or fitness level. Each class brings together groups of people who are interested in learning from great instructors how to have a safe, effective and fun workout! Try some of our group exercise classes for yourself. They are a great way to relieve stress, lose excess fat, tone muscles and provide a renewed sense of well-being, both emotionally and physically!

All group classes are free with membership. Non-members may also participate by purchasing a one time pass or punchcard.

 

Les Mills classes

Les Mills: Body Attack
 
This is the ultimate cardio class! This Les Mills 2 peak cardio format focuses on athletic conditioning and training by doing plyometrics, running, as well as agility and power moves to get the heart pumping! It also includes some upper and lower body strengthening.

Les Mills: Body Flow
 
A combined Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates workout that builds flexibility and strength and leaves you feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance.
 
Les Mills: BodyCombat

This is the empowering cardio workout where you are totally unleashed. This fiercely energetic program is inspired by martial arts and draws from a wide array of disciplines such as karate, boxing, taekwondo, tai chi and Muay Thai.
 
Les Mills: Body Pump
 
Get on the fast track to a strong and toned body! Les Mills Body Pump utilizes barbell weights and awesome music. This class is perfect for men and women of any fitness level. You don't want to miss this class!

This class contains the same great weight training in a shortened 30 minute format. You work all of the large muscle groups during tracks 1-4 : Warmup, Squats, Chest and Back.
 
Les Mills: Body Step
 
This is a Les Mills step workout that will make you feel alive and energized! Using a height-adjustable step, this exhilarating workout provides cardio blocks to push fat burning systems into high gear followed by muscle conditioning to shape and tone your entire lower body.

Looking for a short, sharp workout that’ll inspire you to the next level of fitness, while strengthening and toning your body? CX30 is for you! This 30 minute class really hones in on the torso and sling muscles that connect your upper body to your lower body. It’s ideal for tightening your tummy and butt, while also improving functional strength and assisting in injury prevention.
 
Les Mills: RPM
 
This class will take you on the ride of your life and is the ultimate indoor group cycling experience. This simulated bike ride is perfect for all ages and fitness levels. You ride at your own pace, whether you want a tough ride or want to build endurance. A sweat towel and water bottle are required. Bikes are limited, one day advanced registration is available for our 23 bikes. Classes that are recommended for reservation are all early morning, evening and Saturday classes. Call our front desk at 282-1700 to reserve a bike. · You can call the day prior to or day of the scheduled class to make your reservation.
· Once the 1st song of the class starts, any open bikes are given to walk-ins.
· Participants that no show 3 times after making reservations will be denied reservations in the future.

Turbo kick is a class suited for those who love high energy workouts. This class takes cardio kickboxing to another level! Turbo Kick choreographers have developed movement patterns, combinations and techniques specific to the ancient sport of Muay Thai Boxing. This team has developed the ultimate cardiovascular challenge complete with a sport specific warm-up, bouts of intense intervals, easy to follow combinations, kickboxing specific strength/endurance training and a Tai-Chi like cool-down.
 
Zumba
 
Zumba® fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic fitness program that will blow you away. The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got Zumba®!

A class designed specifically for kids ages 8-13. It's all about the kids! Not only will this class educate them on how to take charge of their personal health, but they will be physically active and learn about safe exercise.
 
PiYo - Pilates/Yoga
PiYo™ is a unique class designed to build strength & gain flexibility. The moves fit perfectly together to form a class filled with intense choreography that’s fun, challenging and will make you sweat. It’s about energy, power, and rhythm. Think sculpted abdominals, increased overall core strength, and greater stability.

OSF classes**

OSF Hi/Lo Floor Aerobics
A high intensity low impact floor aerobics class that builds up choreographed combinations throughout the cardio segment. High impact options are demonstrated to increase intensity. You finish the class with some strength training and Ab work.
 
OSF Lite-N-Lively
This class is for beginners or those with special needs. This lower intensity workout provides exercise at an easy to follow pace you can perform while standing or sitting in a chair.
 
OSF Tai Chi
This is a relaxing Tai Chi class for all levels. It consists of a series of slow, graceful, circular movements that benefit both mind and body. It enhances your strength, endurance and balance. People of all ages and abilities can improve flexibility, decrease stress and ease activities of daily living.
 
Fit and Strong!
Fit and Strong! is an award-winning, evidence-based physical activity/behavior change program developed by the University of Illinois at Chicago, Center for Research on Health Aging (CRHA) proven to benefit arthritis symptoms and promote an active lifestyle.
